The Portuguese Final was held at Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira on March 7th, hosted by Sónia Araújo & Cristina Möhler - however it wasn't broadcast until March 11th. The 10 finalists were chosen through a series of 5 semi-finals - click here for details: PORTUGUESE SEMI-FINALS 2001 The winner was chosen by the votes of 20 regional juries.

MTM came 17th at the Eurovision. Amongst their backing singers at the Eurovision were Filipa Lourenço who took part in the 1999 Portuguese Final, and Fernanda Lopes who took part in 1994.
