The Latvian Final "Eirodziesma 2005" was held on February 26th 2005 in Ventspils at the Ventspils Olympic Center, hosted by Elvis Jansons, Ija Timkevica and Ugis Joksts. The two preceding Semi-Finals were scheduled for the 29th January and the 5th February. The combined results of televoting and a jury decided which five songs from each semi final made it into the grand final in Ventpils on 26 February 2005.

• The 1st Latvian Semi-Final was held on January 29, 2005;

• The 2nd Latvian Semi-Final was held on February 5, 2005;

The show was divided into two parts. After the initial performance of all the entries the lines went open for televoting for 30 minutes. The 3 songs receiving most of the televotes were presented one by one in a Second Round.
A second televoting round then started and decided the Latvian entry for Kyiv.
